- A bizarre woman in the cafe this morning, who stomped in in stacked navy blue suede heels, acid-wash black GUESSes, and a windbreaker. She was very pretty and had ratty black hair. "Do you guys have any day-olds? No? BO-ring!" I watched in fascination as she choked a honey bear into streaming half its contents into her cup, and was indulged to hear her tell someone she was from California (just as I had suspected). "Hey is it done yet, I'm STARVING?"
- A beautiful woman with short hair and very bowed legs, stalking forth like she'd just gotten off the saddle
- A pretty Nordic boy with long, curly hair and a "tek" rain jacket
- A man who asked me if I knew where the homeless people hung out, so he could give his friend a huge warm jacket that he was wearing. "Well, he's not really my friend..."
- Neat old men with perfectly trimmed beards and beautifully made belt buckles
- Young twins eating chocolate, with the same amounts left in the wrappers and on their faces
- A fly on a wall, in the sun
- Moms and daughters holding hands
- A woman swinging a child back and forth and saying "Swisshhh.... swisshhhh...." like the sound of air rushing through his ears
